Crownucopia
Restoring Confidence, One Crown at a Time
About Crownucopia
Crownucopia is the AJ Terrell Jr. Foundation’s signature annual initiative dedicated to uplifting women and children experiencing homelessness in Atlanta. Launched in 2024, this two-day activation was born out of a critical need identified by Atlanta Mission’s My Sister’s House: while donations of food, clothing, and toys are plentiful during the holidays, there is a significant gap in access to culturally relevant hair care, skin care, and personal care products that meet the needs of Black and Brown women and children.
Our name combines the symbolism of a “crown”—representing self-worth, dignity, and identity—with the “cornucopia,” a symbol of abundance and generosity. Together, they capture our mission to not only provide essential products, but also restore confidence, celebrate beauty, and create moments of joy for families in transition.
Our impact
In its inaugural year (2024), Crownucopia:
Served 200+ women and children living at My Sister’s House.
Distributed customized care packages with premium hair care, skin care, and personal care items tailored to natural hair textures and diverse skin needs.
Hosted an engaging Bagging Day volunteer experience with donors, partners, and community members.
Created a Giving Day celebration featuring shared meals, special guests, music, and meaningful moments of connection.
Fostered lasting relationships between residents and brands, offering education on product use and quick hair styling demonstrations.
What’s New in 2025
For our second annual Crownucopia, we’re building on last year’s success with expanded goals:
Serve up to 245 residents at My Sister’s House.
Provide separate, age-appropriate care packages for women and children, plus bulk donations for men’s products.
Offer live activations such as quick hair styling, barber services, and natural hair care education.
Include special guest appearances, including Atlanta Falcons players, to inspire and uplift.
Capture the day through professional photography and videography to share the impact with our community and stakeholders.
How It Works
Day 1 – Bagging Day (November 17, 2025)
Our partners, donors, and volunteers gather in the My Sister’s House chapel to assemble hundreds of care packages in a joyful, team-building environment.
Day 2 – Giving Day (November 18, 2025)
We welcome the women and children of My Sister’s House to a celebration featuring a warm meal, entertainment, and the distribution of care packages. Residents can also connect with brand representatives, participate in mini-workshops, and take part in services designed to help them feel confident and supported.
Why Crownucopia Matters
For women and children experiencing homelessness, personal care is more than appearance—it’s a lifeline to dignity, confidence, and readiness for new opportunities such as job interviews or school. By filling this unmet need, we are investing in the whole person, ensuring they feel seen, valued, and equipped for the next chapter of their journey.
Ways to Support
We invite corporations, foundations, and individual donors to join us in making Crownucopia possible:
Product Sponsorship – Donate culturally relevant hair care, skin care, and personal care products (see our 2025 Wishlist).
Financial Contribution – Support program costs, event logistics, and volunteer engagement.
Volunteer – Participate in Bagging Day or Giving Day and connect directly with the community you’re impacting.
Brand Activation – Host an educational or service-based activation to engage residents in meaningful, hands-on ways.
